The Darcys' new single, Josie, is a cover of the Steely Dan song, taken from their 1977 album Aja. The Darcys have recorded their own interpretation of the critically acclaimed album and released it in January 2012, through Arts & Crafts. Josie is available to download from The Darcys' website.
The video for Josie was produced and directed by Aaron Miller and is a series of shots of different girls, set against a backdrop of a modern, concrete world.
The Darcys are Jason Couse (vocals and guitar); Wes Marskell (drums); Mike le Riche (guitar and organ) and Dave Hurlow (bass). Aja is the second in a trilogy of releases by the band; their self-titled debut was released in October 2011 and the third album will be released in late 2012.
The Darcys will perform at The Great Escape Festival, Brighton, in May 2012. Currently, they are touring the US with Arkells and Bombay Bicycle Club, which will see them perform at SXSW. More UK and European dates are set to follow.
