Cult Band The Breeders Are Planning To Release Their First New Album For Seven Years If Twin Sisters Kelley And Kim Deal Can Agree On The Direction Of The Project.
The Deal twins have been concentrating on their work with the U.S. band since Kim quit as bassist of The Pixies in 2013, and they have been recording in a studio with famed producer Steve Albini, who helmed two earlier Breeders releases.
The new disc will be the band's first album since 2008's Mountain Battles but they are already experiencing problems in the studio as the Deal twins and bassist Josephine Wiggs are struggling to agree on what tracks to lay down.
Kim Deal tells NME magazine, "If we can get the songs together (we will release an album)... Josephine doesn't like one of them. Kelley actually doesn't really like that one either... I don't know."
Barcelona: arguably the most picturesque city in Europe. Situated on the Mediterranean coast in the heart of the Catalonian region, it's a landmine of history and culture. In amongst the beautiful landscapes and symbolic architecture; much of it crafted by Antoni Gaudi; lies the wonderful Park Guell, while at the city's highest point resides the Olympic Stadium, redeveloped with an increased capacity for the 1992 event. Then, of course, there's always the world famous Nou Camp, home to arguably the greatest and most successful football club of this generation, which is where our week long journey begins.
Arriving a day early before Primavera's festivities start enables us to take in the unique atmosphere as champions Barcelona narrowly defeat Real Valladolid by the odd goal. It also allows one final opportunity to contemplate this year's timetable where clashes aplenty are the order of most days. However, such a haven of choices marks a great festival, right? Right.
This year's event marks the thirteenth edition of Primavera Sound and, with weekend tickets having sold out months ago, it would be fair to say it's one of the few whose reputation and audience is growing despite the current economic decline. Mainly situated across three venues; the Parc Del Forum, Parc De La Ciutadella and Sala Apolo; Primavera has developed from an initial three-day weekend into a full blown seven-day event.

Cult band The Breeders had the easiest reunion in rock history - sisters Kim and Kelley Deal arranged the comeback by text message while relaxing on a couch.
The Cannonball hitmakers have reformed their early 1990s line-up for a series of shows marking the 20th anniversary of their album Last Splash, which they will perform in full on the tour.
Guitarist Kelley has now opened up about the surprise reunion, insisting she and her twin Kim came up with the idea while chatting on a sofa, and fellow former members Jim MACpherson and Josephine Wiggs agreed as soon as the Deals sent them a cell phone text message.

Rocker JOSEPHINE WIGGS is to rejoin The Breeders to wrap up the band's North American tour.
Wiggs, who left the band in the mid-1990s, will replace current Breeders bassist Mando Lopez, who has been forced to quit the tour so he can be with his pregnant wife, who went into labour on Wednesday (19Aug09).
The band's spokesman tells Rolling Stone magazine that singer Kim Deal reached out to Wiggs and asked her to rejoin the band for their final three shows.
Wiggs last played with the Breeders at a special one-off reunion gig in 2005.

The two local groups will perform at a rally in support of Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden on 16 October (08) at Fountain Square in Cincinnati, Ohio - and they're making sure fans can vote by providing buses to local polling stations.

Rockers The Breeders overcame a series of technical problems during their set at California's Coachella Festival to wow fans on the opening day of the event.
The band hit the main stage on Friday afternoon (25Apr08) and set out to keep the crowds entertained as they battled the sweltering desert heat.
They hit a number of sound troubles minutes into their performance, leaving singers Kim Deal and her twin sister Kelley to belt out their vocals at the top of their lungs in a bid to get their voices heard.
But the high-spirited pair soldiered on and closed their set with their hit song Cannonball, their cover of The Beatles' Happiness Is A Warm Gun, much to the approval of the throng of supporters, who cheered and applauded the group throughout their appearance.
