Brat pack movie The Breakfast Club has been voted the top teen film of all
The 80s classic - based on a group of students given a Saturday morning
detention - beat more recent comedies American Pie and SCREAM in the poll of
5,000 film fans run by British retail giants WOOLWORTHS.
The Breakfast Club featured rising stars Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald
and ALLY SHEEDY - who were part of a group of actors known as the Brat Pack.
However the actors have failed to sustain the success they enjoyed in the 1985
Ringwald famously turned down Julia Roberts's role in Pretty Woman
although Estevez did enjoy success in the 1988 western Young Guns and its
FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF starring Matthew Broderick came second, while the
Christian Slater movie Pump Up the Volume was voted third.
