Thandie Newton has set her sights on directing as soon as her debut movie script goes into production.
The Crash star has spent several years writing a screenplay, which she previously described as a "comedy feature film", and has now revealed the project is moving towards filming.
Newton insists she won't reveal any details about her screenwriting debut, but admits it has inspired her to try out directing.
She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I'm writing my first movie script which will go into production very soon and I'm so excited. I can't say the title yet because it's all top secret, but over the next few years I will be maturing into somebody who is not just up there on the screen. My next step will be directing, that is my ultimate goal."
