Game 5 of the World Series, in which the Texas Rangers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, aided by a spectacular bat-and-glove performance by Rangers catcher Mike Napoli, averaged 14.3 million viewers Monday night, peaking in the final 10 minutes with 19.7 million, according to Nielsen Research. The Game also gave Fox a win for the night in the key 18-34 and 18-49 demographic groups. Through five games, the World Series has been averaging 13.7 million viewers, virtually flat with last year. Meanwhile, CBS's Two and a Half Men drew 15.5 million viewers on Monday and ABC's Dancing With The Stars averaged 15 million viewers. Clearly a lot of people were watching television Monday, since the figures do not include viewers who watched ESPN's Monday Night Football coverage on cable. On Tuesday night, CBS's NCIS was again a big winner with 19.05 million viewers. Competing directly against it was the first hour of Fox's The X Factor which averaged 11.8 million viewers for the night. At 9 00 pm., NCIS Los Angeles led the field with 15.9 million viewers, but the results episode of ABC's Dancing with the Stars was a close second with 13.8 million viewers.
