Actor Terence Howard has confessed he can be difficult on movie sets, because he's a perfectionist.

The 36-year-old admits to throwing tantrums during the filming of new movie HUSTLE + FLOW when he felt he was being pushed too much - but he defends his behaviour.

He says, "I found out that Denzel Washington was difficult. Al PACINO, Marlon Brando, Glenn Close, Angela Bassett... everyone I respected was labeled difficult.

"I'm not that way because I want only green and red M+Ms. I'm difficult because I want to act the truth.

"You invited me to the party; let me dance. Don't tell me I can't do the shake."
