Eighties soul star Teena Marie has dedicated a song on her new album to her late mentor Rick James.
Marie shot to fame in the early 1980s after being discovered by funk icon James and she has proved she's not forgotten the Grammy-winning star by paying tribute to him on her latest release, Congo Square.
She says, "He inspired a song called The Pressure. Every single song on this album is dedicated to someone that I love."
James died in August, 2004, at the age of 56.
