The two singers hooked up to sing a version of Goulding's track during Swift's recent sold-out performance at LA's Staple's Centre
As Taylor Swift continues her Red tour up and down the United States, so does her newfound tradition of bringing a little help on stage to treat her fans. At her show at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, the pop-country star hooked up with UK pop sensation Ellie Goulding for a one off performance, with the two singing a version of 'Anything Could Happen' from Goulding's second album, Halcyon.
Swift played her 11th sold out show at the Staples Centre on Friday
As the Friday (August 23) show at the Staples Centre was drawing to an end, Taylor began introducing the Brit star to the unsuspecting audience. Previously during her tour, Swift has shared the stage with Carly Simon, indie duo Tegan & Sara and UK artist Cher Lloyd, and it's looking as though she has no plans to quit this Red-tradition any time soon.
Goulding came on stage to perform her own track with Swift
"Los Angeles: we've had some really good times together, we've had some really fun surprises and that's not really a tradition I'm willing to stop any time soon. How would you feel if there was a special surprise guest for you?" Swift asked the eager audience, with the singer then giving a gushing introduction for the "incredible, wonderful, insanely talented, incredibly cool" Goulding. She finished the introduction saying, "She's not from around here, she's actually from the UK. She's one of my favourite artists, she's also one of my friends. Hey Los Angeles, Ellie Goulding is here!"
The two haven't just shared a stage, it should be noted, as they have also shared romantic ties with a boyband, with Ellie recently linked to a relationship with One Direction singer Niall Horan. Although the singers have remained quiet on their supposed relationship, the two are strongly linked together as a budding couple. Swift on the other hand was once connected to 1D's resident casanova Harry Styles, who is quietly awaiting a song about him to be written by Swift.
The 'RED' tour has been a massive success for Swift so far
