Taylor Swift's latest album Red is flying off the shelves, and could break records if sales patterns continue, USA Today reports.

What are hot cakes? Are they quite literally cakes that satisfy the temperature widely considered to be 'hot'? Or are they a specific cake with a recipe that defines them as 'hot cakes? We digress; Taylor swift's album, Red, is selling so fast, the country-pop songstress is fast becoming one of the world's most successful artists at the tender age of 22-years old. If Red passes the million mark, she would be the first act in a decade to release back-to-back studio albums that sold more than a million copies in their debut week. Previously, Speak Now sold 1.047 million copies during its initial week in 2010. On Monday, tracks from Red accounted for 13 of iTunes' top 20 tracks, and Swift still had half the top 20 on iTunes' Top Songs chart until Tuesday afternoon. She already has sold 4.5 million individual tracks from the album!

It looks like the catchy-country juggernaut that is Taylor Swift will continue to break young men's hearts, pen tracks about them breaking her heart, break records and make around a gazillion dollars in the process. And why not? Well, we can think of a few but they don't really matter.
