At only 23-years-old, Taylor Swift has accomplished a lot of things in her career already; selling millions of albums, gaining countless number ones and earning millions of fans (and dollars) along the way. Adding to her enormous success even further was her recent success with the Nashville Songwriters Association International, who awarded her their top honour for the sixth time in a row, making her the first person to receive the honour so many times in successive years.
Taylor is no stranger to winning awards
The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer was able to beat the record set by veteran country singer/songwriters Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, who both have five wins each, as she scored 14 top 30 songs between July 2012 and June 2013. The award is only given out to those who manage to reach the top thirty, and with so many top 30 singles in such a short period of time Taylor walked away with yet another NSAI award with ease. If this wasn't enough, Taylor is also the youngest ever recipient of the award; a further indication of her massive popularity and success despite her relatively young age.
Her most recent success comes off the back of her multi-platinum selling fourth album, Red, which has spawned some of her biggest hits to date. 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' '22' and 'I Knew You Were Trouble' have proved to be worldwide hits and secured Taylor's place among the musical elite. Her near-endless touring must have helped her out too, and as she made her way through the arenas and stadiums of the world she managed to break a few records on her way too. She managed to sell-out more shows at Los Angeles' Staples Center than anyone before, performing to 11 packed out audiences earlier this year.
Her fans will soon get the chance to have a look at some of her accolades in the near future as well, when she opens the Taylor Swift Education Center this weekend at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. The exhibition was set up thanks to Swift, who donated $4 million to the museum and foundation to nurture young musical talent. The center opens on Saturday, 12 October.
