Max Martin, the man behind Taylor Swift's We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble, has topped a new poll of the most successful hitmakers.

The Swedish songwriter, who has worked extensively with Swift, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson, among others, has beaten out Dr. Luke, will.i.am and Timbaland to land at number one on The Hollywood Reporter's new pre-Grammy Awards hit list.

Bruno Mars' The Smeezingtons collective and Ryan Tedder also make the top six, while Ne-Yo, Pharrell Williams, Sia and producer Diplo make the top 20.

In naming Martin the top man on the Pop's Top 35 Hitmakers list, The Hollywood Reporter notes he has sold over 135.4 million singles to date since his first collaboration with the Backstreet Boys in 1995.
