Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney lead the nominations for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, which take place on April 1, 2012. Taylor Swift has received three nominations in total and, notably, is the only female nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category. To win that award, which is considered the most prestigious of the categories, she will need to fight off competition from Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Kenny Chesney
Chesney also looks set to have a lucrative evening at the awards ceremony, with nominations in nine categories after the release of his latest album Hemingway's Whiskey and the song 'You and Tequila' receiving special recognition. Jason Jason Aldean has received six nominations, following the release of his fourth studio album, My Kinda Party. Taylor Swift holds the Title for Entertainer of the Year from 2011, a year in which she also won the Jim Reeves International Award.
Taylor's career certainly seems to be on the ascendancy, with rumors abound that she is set to play the role of Eponine in the forthcoming screen adaptation of Les Miserables. Taylor was spotted out and about in London earlier this week, where she is said to be starting rehearsals for the film. Les Miserables is rumored to also feature Hugh Jackman and RUSELL CROWE.
