Actress Taylor Schilling has opened up about her "painful" time at high school, revealing she was targeted because of her geeky looks.
The Orange Is The New Black star shot to fame when her hit prison show debuted last year (13), and the 29 year old's beauty has made her a top choice for magazine covers, but Schilling admits she wasn't always confident about her appearance.
Talking about her tough time as a teen, she tells America's Allure magazine, "It was tough at home, and it was tough at school.
"My experience was painful, so painful. There was a period of time I had very short hair, and I had glasses, and I was very tall for my age."
However, Schilling insists her awkward phase has prevented her from becoming obsessed with her image, adding: "I don't feel bound by my face or my body. I don't feel like that's the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that."
