The new season of the prison drama has seen a spike in illegal activity.
The second season of Orange Is The New Black debuted on Netflix last weekend, launching the next set of episodes of the female prison comedy-drama for all your binge-watching desires. However, as with all eagerly-anticipated new series, there has been an inevitable spike in the number of viewers watching the episodes illegally.
In the first two days of its release, "OITNB" season 2 episodes were illegally downloaded by 55,668 individuals over peer-to-peer networks in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia, the four biggest markets for piracy, according to piracy-tracking firm Excipio, via Variety.
The figure represents a tenfold rise from the 3,850 pirates who downloaded illegally during the first two days of the initial season last July. This is largely attributed to OITNB's snowballing success and increased buzz since season one as well as the show's constant accessibility to Netflix subscribers.

For the uninitiated, Orange is the New Black is the Netflix original based on Piper Kerman's memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison. In the series, Taylor Schilling plays Piper, who is sent to prison for 15 months for transporting a suitcase full of drugs for her former girlfriend, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon).
The series sees Piper navigating the thorny prison hierarchy and its related stresses before reuniting with her former girlfriend in prison, leading the two to re-examine their relationship. Whilst taking a light-hearted look at women's prison and its characterful inmates, the series has also been praised to getting its viewers emotionally involved with some challenging scenarios.

Piper Chapman is still in prison during her fifteen month stint following her conviction of transporting drug money for her ex-girlfriend Alex Vause ten years ago. She thought she had escaped her risky youth, but her one crime had finally caught up with her despite now living a perfectly ordinary, law-abiding life with a soon-to-be husband. Prison may be full of women, but it's not all good news. As expected, it's a volatile environment with much drama and much aggression. But with that comes unshakeable friendships, the genuine efforts of prison officials to help rebuild these women's lives and old faces all around. Piper is reunited with Alex, and the pair find themselves struggling to shake off that glimmering spark between them.

Buzzfeed has reported that Prepon will indeed be back for season two, for a four episodes run this time. Originally it was only meant to be one episode, but this has thankfully be increased. However, the real good news is that if 'Orange is the New Black' gets renewed for a third season (and we’re assuming it will) Prepon will be back again and this time she’ll have an even larger role.

Julianne Hough, the dancer turned singer and actress best known for her appearances on Dancing With the Stars and Safe Haven, has apologised for appearing at a Halloween party in blackface. Julianne Hough (R) apologised for appearing in blackface at a Halloween party.
Hough attended the Casamigos Tequila Halloween Party with friends dressed as characters from the hit series. Hough's costume based on the character 'Crazy Eyes' involved the actress donning an orange jumpsuit and tying her hair up in the character's signature knotty buns. The 25-year-old actress also applied blackface, a former theatrical makeup technique now considered incredibly offensive.
