Taylor Momsen, the 'Gossip Girl' star and lead singer of the rock-band The Pretty Reckless, says Courtney Love is not one of her idols and that the Hole singer doesn't influence her, despite comparisons being drawn between the pair. The 17-year-old told Interview Magazine, "She's awesome. She just isn't one of my idols or direct influences, despite what people think". Many have observed Momsen's grungy dress-sense as a homage to Love, however, the singer said, "The public decided that for themselves, but I'm not going to complain, because she is great".
Like Love, Momsen is also an actress, and she began her film career in 2000s 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas', and two years later was cast in the film 'Hansel & Gretel', in which she played the role of Gretel. In 2006, she starred in 'Saving Shiloh', as well as appearing in 2007s Disney film 'Underdog'.
Momsen is perhaps now best recognised as being the singer in band, THE PRETTY RECKLESS, who are signed to Interscope Records. Speaking about her music career, she said, "I've been singing and writing songs my whole life, but people didn't know that."
