Actress Taraji P. Henson has blamed her tipsy friends for leading her to believe Sunday's (07Feb16) Super Bowl half-time show headliners were Maroon 5.
The Empire star was enjoying the big game from the comfort of a VIP suite at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where she was joined by her rumoured boyfriend, American footballer Kelvin Hayden, and a group of pals.
She took to social media to share her delight at the start of the Super Bowl half-time show performance, which also featured appearances from Beyonce and Bruno Mars, but fans were quick to point out her mistake after she incorrectly identified British stars Coldplay for American rockers Maroon 5.
"YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!" she exclaimed alongside one video clip of the gig. "#maroon5 is life to me!!! #superbowl50 #HappyCamper I am."

Empire Star Jussie Smollett Is Set To Be Honoured With A Special Prize At The 2016 Naacp Image Awards.
The actor/singer, who portrays musician Jamal Lyon on the hit hip-hop drama, will be one of eight recipients of the Chairman's Award, which is presented in recognition of special achievement and distinguished public service, reports Deadline.com.
Smollett has been an active campaigner for civil rights, HIV and AIDS awareness, and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) issues since his teens.
The 32-year-old is in for a big night at the 5 February (16) ceremony in California as Empire is also shortlisted for an impressive 12 nods, including Outstanding Drama Series and acting nominations for Smollett and his co-stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, and Grace Gealey.

Empire Creator Lee Daniels Is Asking A Judge To Dismiss A Lawsuit Filed Against Him From A Woman Who Alleges The Drama Was Inspired By Her Life Story.
Sophia Eggleston filed a $300 million (£200 million) lawsuit in August (15), claiming the show's central character, Cookie Lyon - played by Taraji P. Henson, is so similar to herself that creator Lee Daniels must have used her as his muse.
The 53-year-old stated she was a drug kingpin who went to jail for ordering a hit on a man, and then wrote a memoir about her colourful life.
She alleged she travelled to Los Angeles in 2011 to meet screenwriter Rita Miller and gave her a copy of her book, titled The Hidden Hand, which she claims must have then been used as the basis for Empire after Miller met with Daniels.

The 45-year-old picked up a Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Television Drama on Sunday (10Jan16) for her work as Cookie Lyon in the hit Fox musical drama, and took a moment to address criticism the show receives backstage.
Despite its success, the series has been lashed with homophobic criticism, as it features a gay R&B singer, played by Jussie Smollett, but Taraji doesn't tolerate such behaviour.
"We ignore that," she said. "That's nonsense and that's fear, so we understand where that's coming from, so there's nothing to comment on that. People are dealing with this, it's not a joke, that's why it's in the script. It's not for show, it's not for sensationalism. It's because people are struggling with this. And that's why we shed light on it.

"Who thought Cookie would bring me this kind of notoriety," she tells the publication. "This is the type of character that people judge - she went to jail she sold drugs. But what happens? (People) run to her? (It) blows me away every time. That goes to show people like real."
And Taraji admits her TV notoriety comes with benefits: "I don't wait in line for anything anymore. Upside, now that I'm rich, people like to send me things for free. I don't understand that, but OK, I'll take it. I love getting free gifts."
