Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has plans to alter New York's legendary skyline - when he turns a landmark building into a giant musical instrument.
Byrne, 55, is planning to erect a temporary installation that he calls Playing the Building, in downtown Manhattan. The structure will include devices attached to ceiling beams, plumbing, and sound produced through vibration allowing it to function fully as an instrument.
According to state officials, the project is set to open at the end of this month (May08) in the city's Battery Maritime Museum.
