British boyband Take That have snubbed an $8.8 million (GBP5 million) offer to reunite, because the former bandmates reunion nearly ended in violence.

The RELIGHT MY FIRE sensations were offered the phenomenal payout for a ten day one-off tour.

But the pop hunks, including multi-million selling solo star Robbie Williams, didn't even make it past initial talks before old tensions began to resurface.

A source tells British newspaper The People, "The tension was really high. Robbie revealed how he hated the band in the final days. We were worried fists would fly."

Williams adds, "We will never go back on the road. When we ended we were great. We don't want to become Status Quo."
