Yet more Main Stage artists for T In The Park are announced today. Staines' finest, and one of the most acclaimed new bands on the UK indie scene, Hard-Fi will make their Balado debut performance on Sunday 9th July.
Richard Archer, Hard Fi frontman was enthusiastic about their first visit to T in the Park, saying "Some of the best gigs we've ever played have been in Scotland. We've got some great memories from our first ever gig at King Tut's, December's sold out Barrowlands show and of course our Hogmanay show in Edinburgh. So we're really looking forward to playing up there at T in the Park for the first time. The line up for the weekend looks great!"
Also announced today are Scottish favourites The Proclaimers, who will return to the event for their third fantastic festival set, having performed before in 2001 and T in the Park's Tenth Year celebrations in 2003. Currently in the studio working on new material, twins Craig and Charlie Reid commented "We are delighted to be playing T in the Park for the third time and we are sure the crowd will be exceptional, as it always is."

As always, expect many more artists and attractions to be unveiled over the coming weeks and months that will continue to ensure that T in the Park is the world's leading festival experience.
A limited number of tickets for this year's T in the Park went on sale back in July, just one day after 2005's event. And while the sun was setting on another outstanding event, T in the Parkers snapped them up in JUST FOUR HOURS. This astounding record-smashing time is testament to the festival's consistent popularity and stature amongst global music fans even before any artists were revealed.
Geoff Ellis, CEO of festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd had this to say:
"2005 was a fantastic year for T in the Park. The team are extremely proud of the recognition we received at the UK Festival Awards, however, these accolades don't mean that we will ever rest on our laurels as we know that the very thing that sets T in the Park apart from any other event in the world is the incredible passion of the Scottish audience and we will continually strive to make the event a better and more enjoyable experience year on year. This year there will be developments to the site layout to make it even easier for fans to move around and there will also be improvements in the campsite including more entertainment and increased security measures.
The line up that we have unveiled today is probably the strongest we have ever had at launch time. There was great anticipation at T in the Park last year, both in the audience and backstage when Pete Townshend arrived to play guitar in an early morning slot with Rachel Fuller so I am extremely pleased that he is coming back this year with the rest of The Who - something I always hoped but never thought would happen in my career as a promoter! It is also great to welcome the hottest and on the planet Arctic Monkeys to Balado for the first time almost a year to the day that they played their first Scottish gig at King Tut's. In addition we have secured one of the best live bands in the world, Red Hot Chili Peppers. With over one third of tickets for the event already sold, we are expecting a very quick sell out this year. It could be hours rather than days.
Now all we need is the fabulous weather we have enjoyed for the last few years - and of course the fans. We look forward to seeing you all in July and hope that you will agree once again that T in the Park is the best festival in the UK."
George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent's Lager, continues:
"Firstly, our thanks must go to the legendary Balado crowd. They are absolutely unrivalled the world over in the atmosphere they create, their passion for the event and the fantastic welcome they extend to each and every artist who graces the stage on T in the Park weekend. They have already voted T in the Park the number 1 festival in the UK, and due to the rapturous welcome they extend, T in the Park has fast become the artist's favourite festival too, as they are so keen to return to bring their music to Balado.
Our thanks must also go to our partners Big Day Out Ltd for putting together another spectacular line up for this year's event. There will be a great deal more to be announced in the coming weeks and months, and we greatly look forward to that.
We are delighted to look forward to another T Break programme, which will offer a platform to the finest homegrown unsigned talent and see the return of the T Break Stage at T in the Park where this talent can be showcased.
The extent of T in the Park's growth year on year continues to delight all of us here at Tennent's Lager. It has always been, and continues to be, the bastion of our music programme which has displayed a consistent and passionate commitment to the support of music in Scotland for nearly 20 years. We look forward to the next 20 and beyond! See you at Balado."
Main Stage – Need we say more? Put simply, the best bands in the world will grace the world renowned Main Stage over T in the Park weekend. The breadth and depth of the spectacular T line up will be underlined here, and complemented perfectly with the following stages…
R1/NME Stage – Set to enjoy its fourth year as an outdoor stage, the R1/NME Stage will return once again, continuing to showcase the finest from homegrown talent to international artists. Its new location on the site last year meant even more music fans could witness the fantastic performances. This year, some minor site adjustments will allow yet more fans to watch artists on this stage.
King Tut's Tent – Diverse and eclectic talent will be showcased in this tent, named after the world famous venue, accompanied by an electric atmosphere. This tent has been the location of more than one sing-along too. Who could forget Snow Patrol's 'Run' in 2004 and the Futureheads 'Hounds of Love' in 2005?
T Break Stage – T in the Park was the first European festival to dedicate a stage to the best in homegrown unsigned talent, and the T Break Stage is also back at Balado, seeing Tennent's Lager continue their commitment to the cultivation and support of grassroots music in Scotland.
X-Tent – Now a firm favourite on the T in the Park map, the X-Tent returns once again. If cutting edge international talent is your preference, X definitely marks the spot!
Futures Stage – Back by popular demand, the Futures Stage, which made its Balado debut in 2005, will return with a stellar line up of brand new artists.
Slam Tent – Scotland's largest dance music event in its own right, the Slam Tent, will return for its tenth year at Balado continuing in its tradition of booming sound systems and extraordinary visuals together with the finest cutting edge dance acts from around the globe. It's the talent that cements its reputation.
Once again, the party will start on Friday 7th July for over 45,000 music fans who choose to camp in the legendary campsite. This year will see significant improvements to the facilities in the campsite. More details to be announced soon…
Radio 1 is looking forward to returning to T in the Park with the R1/NME Stage and Signing Tent and a series of programmes broadcast live from the festival including weekend daytime shows and a special Lamacq Live. Full details will be announced soon…
