Director Sydney Pollack fears his forthcoming movie The Interpreter will be
a box office flop - because it doesn't feature enough sex scenes and fight
sequences to entertain fickle cinema-goers.
The film-maker's thriller stars Sean Penn as an FBI agent who is assigned
to protect Nicole Kidman's interpreter character, who overhears a United
Nations assassination plot.
But Pollack is concerned the complex storyline is not enough to sustain
the audience's attention, because they are accustomed to fast-paced movies with
frequent nudity and violence.
