Singer Susan Boyle finally feels safe in her new home after she suffered a terrifying encounter with a teenage burglar in her previous house.
The star returned to her property in West Lothian, Scotland in January last year (10) to find an intruder in the hallway. A 16-year-old youth later admitted a charge of theft for stealing $13.50 (£9) from the house, and was ordered to hand over $150 (£100) to Boyle's chosen charity.
Boyle's management team persuaded the star to move to a more secure residence, and she opted for a five-bedroom property near to her childhood home.
And the I Dreamed a Dream sensation reveals she finally feels at ease after her ordeal.
She tells Britain's Daily Record, "I had a housewarming party in January - new year, new house. I had a lovely gathering with close friends and family. I am getting used to living there now and feel very safe and comfortable. It is close to my old family home so I am still a part of the community I love and grew up in."
