Woody Harrelson - Woody Harrelson hopes Hunger Games 2 is good
Woody Harrelson admits Hollywood sequels are often lacklustre and hopes 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' will be just as good as 'The Hunger Games'.
Woody Harrelson hopes 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' is as good as the first film.
The actor - who plays Haymitch Abernathy, adviser to Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen, in the franchise - feels that Hollywood sequels tend to pale in comparison to their predecessors and is hopeful the new movie won't suffer the same fate.
He said: ''When you're looking at [big movie] studios, they need to make money. They're giant corporations, so I understand that in getting something that is working, you stick with it.
''Most times, sequels aren't as good as the original and I hope that's not the case for 'The Hunger Games'. I haven't seen it, but if it as good, why not [make more]?''
The actor admits he originally turned the role of Haymitch in last year's smash hit blockbuster, but was convinced to take the part by director Gary Ross and has grown to love the film series.
He said: ''I love it. I really love it. The director called me and he said, 'You've got to do this for me. I don't have a second choice.' He was so passionate about it and I thought, 'Well, if you want me to do it that bad, I'll do it.'
''Just one conversation made me throw the dice. That was it and now I'm part of this incredible franchise.''
'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' sees Lawrence reprise her role as Katniss, while Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth return as Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively.
The sequel - which is being directed by Francis Lawrence - is due for release in November.
