Jennifer Love Hewitt - Weight Loss Bosses Hit Back At Jennifer Love Hewitt

Bosses of a slimming company embroiled in a legal dispute with Jennifer Love Hewitt have hit back at the actress, insisting they broke no laws by using pictures of her with their products.

The Client List star's legal representatives filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Wednesday (04Jun14), claiming executives at The Marz Group Llc violated the actress' public image by using a picture of her to endorse their product Slim Spray.

However, bosses at the company have now hit back, with a representative for The Marz Group telling editors at Tmz.com the star was intrigued by their merchandise when she attended a Hollywood gifting suite in 2012, where she asked questions and "posed for the camera over a dozen times with our products".

They insist they legally purchased the images of Hewitt in the suite and are certain they are within their legal rights to use the photos in their adverts.

Hewitt is seeking damages, legal fees, and an injunction banning further use of her image.

The 35 year-old actress has joined the cast of CBS's 'Criminal Minds' in a regular role for the upcoming 10th season, the network announced on Tuesday (July 1st).

Hewitt will star as Kate Callahan, a former undercover FBI agent who is hired to work in a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit due to her exceptional skills.

"We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast," showrunner Erica Messer said in a statement.

Hewitt is already a CBS regular as she previously had the starring role in 'The Ghost Whisperer' for a five season run that finished in 2010, and most recently headlined Lifetime's 'The Client List' for two seasons until it was cancelled in late 2013.

At the time it was reported that the network's decision to cancel the drama was due to Hewitt being involved in a dispute backstage about her pregnancy with co-star and real-life husband Brian Hallisay.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Welcomes Baby Girl And Ties The Knot With Brian Hallisay 3973054 News

Congratulations to Jennifer Love Hewitt, who is not only a new mum, but also married to her The Client List co-star Brian Hallisay. The couple confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly via their rep. The little lady (that’s right, it’s a girl!) came into the world on Tuesday, November 26 and the happy couple named her Autumn James Hallisay – we’d say that’s pretty mild on the spectrum of out-there celebrity baby names.

Hewitt remained relaxed and positive throughout her pregnancy.

"Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter," the rep says. "Autumn James Hallisay was born on November 26."

An ever trustworthy “source” adds for the magazine that the couple were married during a private ceremony away from the media. Back in July, Hewitt told Us Weekly that she and her beau had decided on keeping the little one’s gender a surprise until the birth.

"You sort of have these pictures in your mind of what [the baby's going to look like]," she said. "I'm really excited to see what he or she is going to look like!"

She also explained that unlike most future parents, she was trying to keep her pregnancy as stress-free as possible. "I think most people, when they're getting ready to be a mom, they go, 'Oh my gosh, I have to have all of the answers right now,' but every kid is different, every parent is different and every child and parent relationship is different, so you just sort of have to wait until you're in it and do the best that you can to try to be Zen in the middle of it all," she explained. Now, following a relatively uneventful pregnancy, Hewitt and Hallisay have welcomed a healthy and happy infant. Congratulations to the new parents.

"Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter. Autumn James Hallisay was born on November 26," a source close with the pair confirmed with Us Weekly, adding that the couple "got married recently in private."

Hewitt and Hallisay have been dating since 2012 after a previous fling some time earlier, with the pair reconnected on the set of Lifetime's The Client List. Despite reasonable success and steady ratings, the show has since been cancelled, with a contractual disagreement between Hewitt and the show's producers, as well as creative differences on set, believed to be at the centre of the show's axing. It is believed that Hewitt wanted to incorporate her pregnancy and relationship with Hallisay into the programme, however writers and producers wanted to retain the single-mother aesthetic to the show.

Lifetime Cancel's Jennifer Love Hewitt's 'The Client List' After Two Series 3933155 News

'The Client List' has aired on the Lifetime network for two seasons, since April 2012.

Lifetime announced on Friday (Nov 1st) that the show is officially cancelled due to ratings decreasing during the second season.

The show follows a single mother called 'Riley Parks' (Hewitt), who is left in financial ruin by her run away husband. Parks begins work at a local spar and quickly realises to earn more money she will need to give her customers 'extras'.

Riley is presented as a character who will do anything to keep her children safe.

The cancellation news follows reports that Hewitt was involved in a dispute backstage due to her pregnancy with co-star and real-life fiancé Brian Hallisay.

Deadline reports, Hewitt, who is an executive producer on the show, wanted her pregnancy to be written into a storyline and desired Hallisay to play her on screen baby-daddy. These demands became too much for Lifetime and Sony TV, which was the main cause of the cancelation.

The report also states the network and Sony TV Productions came to a mutual agreement to not air a third season of the show. Ratings was another deciding factor as they slipped throughout the 2nd season with the premiere gaining 2.7 million views and the final episode only earning 2 million views.

Accoridng to E!News, a rep for Hewitt discussed the backstage drama with Deadline. "There are many story lines we are exploring," the rep said. "So any suggestion that we are not doing our best to develop a great season is simply not accurate."

The decision to drop the drama series was made easier by Lifetime as the network has just set in motion two other programs. 'Devious Maids' has been renewed for a second season and 'the Witches Of West End' is likely to follow.

The network will also launch a new season of 'Drop Dead Diva' in 2014 and it is reportedly developing several pilot shows.

'The Client List' Cancelled By Lifetime After Two Seasons 3932916 News

The Jennifer Love-Hewitt drama The Client List has been axed by Lifetime after just two series, with the network deciding to wrap the show after lengthy talks with the star and executive producer Love-Hewitt. After finishing its second season in June this year, Sony Pictures TV and Love-Hewitt have been in negations over the series' future, but as the Hollywood Reporter confirmed this week, neither could come to an agreement that would secure its future.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Brian Hallisay
Co-stars Hewitt and Hallisay met on set

The show, which followed single mother Riley Parks (Hewitt) as she attempted to balance her personal life with her unorthodox professional life as as a massage therapist, looked on course to return for another season at least, however the talks between its star/executive producer and the network executives failed to result in a solution to suit both parties. As stated by THR, Hewitt wanted a change in direction for the show, one that saw her fiancée and co-star Brian Hallisay be given a larger role in the show, however the Sony bosses did not share this creative view.

Apparently, Hewitt - who is pregnant with Hallisay's child - wanted to place more emphasis on the relationship between herself and Hallisay's character, who was introduced in a recurring role in the first season before eventually being moved up to a regular spot. It is also believed that Hewitt wanted to make her real-life pregnancy a more prominent storyline in the show, which also failed to gel with the Sony bosses. Lifetime have yet to comment on the show's axing.

The Client List initially started life as a TV movie and provided a considerable audience boom for the network when it aired in 2010, bringing in approximately 3.9 million viewers. The series initially saw similar success at the start of the first season, but those numbers dropped considerably by the end of the second season, pulling in approximately 2.1 million viewers by the end of its run.

Expectant Jennifer Love Hewitt Steps Out In Full Pregnancy Mode 3831331 News

Jennifer Love Hewitt, who made the wise, but rare decision to withdraw from social media after announcing her pregnancy almost three months ago, is back with a vengeance. It was the Pampers Love Sleep & Play event in New York City that brought the Client List actress out of her self-imposed hiatus away from all the “negativity.”

The actress looked positively radiant at the unveiling of the Love, Sleep & Play campaign.

This Wednesday, the expecting mother tweeted: , "Proud to join @Pampers today to celebrate Love, Sleep & Play!" When she stepped out, she was sporting a subdued maternity look, including brand new bangs, minimal makeup and a simple black dress. Of course, Jennifer had the requisite pregnancy glow to make the plain ensemble work. On the red carpet, she shared that she has been thoroughly enjoying her pregnancy and that she and partner and Client List co-star Brian Hallisay are in no rush to tie the knot. According to 34-year-old Hewitt, the couple will wait until things settle down after the birth to begin planning a ceremony.

As well as her baby bump, she also debuted a new hairstyle.

"I'm not putting that on myself also! We're going to wait," she says. "I'm going to get down and be cute again, and then we'll be ready to go."

Apparently that won’t be too difficult, according to Hewitt, the pregnancy has given her more than a surface glow, with the actress keeping in better shape than ever.

Hewitt retreated from twitter for about a month, after thanking her fans for the support.

“I’ve actually worked out more pregnant than when I wasn’t. I’ve been working out about five to six days a week,” she explains for People. “I do a lot of swimming, Pilates, yoga — all good stuff for baby and for me. It gets difficult the bigger you get because it’s more uncomfortable, but it’s important."

As for the baby’s sex, the future parents aren’t too bothered about this either. When asked about it, Hewitt simply brushed off the question, saying: “I’m due in December and I don’t know what I’m having. Meeting the baby is what I’m most excited about.”

A Week In News: Kate Winslet Expecting, Tyler Saves Bieber and Miguel Jumps Into Trouble 3704556 News

Kate Winslet

Kid Rocker! Congratulations to Kate Winslet and husband Ned Rocknroll this week, after the couple confirmed they are expecting their first child together. It will be the Oscar winning actress's third child, joining her daughter Mia and son Joe.

Bye Bye Bynes Case: The NYPD can probably kiss goodbye to its case against troubled star Amanda Bynes after it emerged they have little or no evidence that the television actress was taking drugs when arrested at her apartment last week. It still hasn't stopped her ranting on Twitter though.

Tyler, The Driver: Tyler The Creator saved Justin Bieber's skin this week, by admitting HE was the one driving the 19-year-old's Ferrari at breakneck speeds through a gated community in Calabasas last week. Do we believe him?

Miguel

No Kaleidoscope Dream: Miguel's wayward crowd diving at the Billboard Music Awards is looking like a huge mistake. The victim of the leg-drop says she may be suffering from BRAIN DAMAGE and it's emerged that the Latin star was advised NOT to jump into the crowd by organizers. Oh oh.

I Know What You Did This Summer:  The secret's out. Jennifer Love Hewitt is pregnant with her first child! The Client List star only hooked up with her boyfriend 15 months ago, but they've wasted no time in starting their only little family. Good luck to the both of them.

World War ZZZZZ? Many had anticipated Brad Pitt's World War Z to be a bit of a snooze-fest and it looked bad for the Hollywood actor following a couple of early reviews, but the movie is battling back! Boasting an impressive 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes, World War Z could still be a major player this year.

Emma Watson

Back To School: Despite the anticipated success of The Bling Ring, British star Emma Watson is once again heading back to Brown University in New York to complete her studies. Fans shouldn't fear though, for she has plenty of roles lined up for the near future, even if Fifty Shades isn't one of them.

Now That's A Plan! Wow. Sylvester Stallone fans are probably still celebrating in the streets. Not only did the veteran actor announce the release date for The Expendables 3 this week, he also confirmed Escape Plan - a classic sounding prison escape movie starring himself and, wait for it, Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Video of the Week: This week's hottest footage comes from the promotional trail of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn's new movie - The Internship. In our video, Vince discusses the perks of shooting at the famous Google offices - free food, swimming pools, ping pong tables. Perfect!
