Richard Curtis - Unknown Waitress Cast In About Time After Serving Director's Family

A waitress was plucked from obscurity and given a role in Richard Curtis' new movie after impressing the director with her serving skills.

Rebecca Chew was working at a restaurant in Cornwall, England last year (12) when the Notting Hill moviemaker visited for a meal with his family.

She served the group pizza and was so efficient at her job, Curtis decided to cast her as a waitress in his new film About Time.

He says, "She was so sweet when she was giving pizzas to our kids that we cast her in the film and she came up and acted a crucial part of a waitress in (sandwich store) Pret A Manger."
