Tv - U.s. Politician Wants Hillary Clinton Tv Projects Scrapped
A leading U.S. politician has called on bosses at two American Tv networks to cancel plans for a documentary and mini-series about Hillary Clinton.
The former First Lady, who stepped down as America's Secretary of State earlier this year (13), is currently the focus of much attention in Hollywood, with Diane Lane cast to play her in upcoming Nbc show Hillary, while executives at Cnn will air a feature-length documentary on the Democrat politician.
The projects have angered some members of the Republican party, including Republican National Committee (Rnc) chairman Reince Priebus, who fired off angry letters to the heads of both networks on Monday (05Aug13).
He accuses the channels of unfairly promoting Clinton ahead of the next U.S. election in 2016, amid rumours she will enter the race by putting herself forward to become the Democrats' presidential candidate.
Priebus also warns the Rnc will stand against either Cnn or Nbc sponsoring the next presidential debates if the projects aren't scrapped.
The letter reads, "It's appalling to know executives at major networks like Nbc and Cnn, who have donated to Democrats and Hillary Clinton, have taken it upon themselves to be Hillary Clinton's campaign operatives...
"If you have not agreed to pull the programming prior to the start of the Rnc's Summer Meeting on August 15, I will seek a binding vote of the Rnc stating that the committee will neither partner with you in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates which you sponsor."
