Thom Yorke - Thom Yorke pulls music from Spotify

Thom Yorke has removed his music from Spotify.

The Radiohead front man has blasted the music streaming service in a Twitter rant and has now declared that he'll be pulling down all of his solo albums and every track by his group Atoms for Peace because he's disgusted that the site doesn't support new artists.

He said: ''Make no mistake new artists you discover on #Spotify will not get paid. Meanwhile shareholders will shortly being rolling in it. Simples.

''Your small meaningless rebellion is only hurting your fans... a drop in the bucket really. No we're standing up for our fellow musicians.

''For me In Rainbows was a statement of trust. People still value new music... that's all we'd like from Spotify. Don't make us the target (sic).''

The singer retweeted posts from his bandmate Nigel Godrich, who also hit out at the music site.

He said: ''New artists get paid f*** all with this model. It's an equation that just doesn't work.

''The music industry is being taken over by the back door and if we don't try and make it fair for new music producers and artists then the art will suffer.

''Plus, people are scared to speak up or not take part as they are told they will lose invaluable exposure if they don't play ball.''

Spotify said in a statement: ''We're 100% committed to making Spotify the most artist-friendly music service possible, and are constantly talking to artists and managers about how Spotify can help build their careers.''
