The Yellow Dogs - Surviving The Yellow Dogs Bandmates Remember Fallen Pals
The surviving members of Iranian punk band The Yellow Dogs have paid tribute to the bandmates killed in a suspected murder-suicide in New York on Monday (11Nov13).
Guitarist Soroush Farazmand and his brother, drummer Arash, were among the three people slain in the Brooklyn home they shared after suspect Raefe Ahkbar opened fire before turning his gun on himself.
The third murder victim, musician Ali Eskandarian, was initially reported to be a member of The Yellow Dogs, but he has since been identified as an acquaintance. Another associate, Sasan Sadeghpourosko, was admitted to hospital with an arm injury.
Now the remaining The Yellow Dogs rockers, Siavash Karampour and bassist Koory Mirz - who were not at home when the shoot-out took place, have remembered their lost friends in a post on Facebook.com, which reads: "Thanks every one for all your prayers and condolences. We still can't believe this tragedy. R.I.P Arash Farazmand, Soroush Farazmand and Ali Eskandarian."
Police have launched an investigation into the crime, which was allegedly sparked after Ahkbar became embroiled in a heated argument over money with a member of his former band, Free Keys.
