Sony Giving Vets And Servicemen Free White House Down Tickets

Apparently reacting to accusations by some conservative pundits that White House Down amounts to an attack by liberal Hollywood filmmakers on U.S. servicemen, Sony Pictures announced Tuesday that it will allow all active personnel and veterans to see the movie for free on July 4. Furthermore, Sony distribution chief Rory Bruer suggested that going to see White House Down on Independence Day would be a great way to celebrate the holiday and to honor and thank the troops for their service to our country. In the movie, a group of politicians opposing the president's plan to remove all U.S. troops from the Middle East literally lay siege to the White House. Who needs to risk getting a mouthful of fist by spitting on our soldiers in-person when you can do it safely from on-screen? wrote Kurt Schlichter, a columnist at Townhall.com. He added that he himself had not seen the movie and remarked that if anyone spent one damn cent on this crap, you're spitting on our troops too. Writers at Breitbart.com referred to the movie as liberal propaganda. But the controversy did not touch a nerve among followers of conservative Fox commentator Sean Hannity (who has a doppelganger in the movie). No doubt that this movie is basically a pro-Obama film, wrote one person on Hannity's blog, but I really don't care. It's still entertaining.
