Sandra Bullock - Sandra Bullock: 'No One Should Ever Google Themselves'

Actress Sandra Bullock has confessed she made the mistake of 'Googling' herself online, and now she is convinced no one should ever read the anonymous comments made.

In her nearly 30 year career as an actress, the Oscar winner has become one of the most beloved - and most talked about - stars in Hollywood, and during her acceptance speech for the Actress of the Year award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday (04Jan14), Bullock confessed she decided to take the risk of reading what people thought of her via online posts.

And she was surprised by what she found.

Bullock said, "I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I could get some titbits of what people really think of me. No human being should ever read the comments sections or ever Google one's self at any time."

"I learned a lot about myself. Some things I was very well aware of: 'Sandra Bullock is over 40' came up a lot. I know that. 'Sandra Bullock's way past 40'. Yeah, I know that, too... 'There's absolutely nothing special about her acting. She's not particularly attractive, I can't stand her, she's mediocre. She's over 40.'

"I was reminded I made out with Meryl Streep. Off-screen, not necessarily her choice. I kind of took her by surprise... I sparked with Betty White and I've flown into space. I've had a pretty good life and a pretty good career."

And seeking out fellow award winner Julia Roberts in the audience, she joked, "Apparently Julia (Roberts)... You and I are in a dispute over George Clooney. We talked about this, right? It's shared custody and we're both fine with it."

The Gravity star, who went through a trying divorce from ex-husband Jesse James in 2010, went on to discuss what she discovered about her romantic life online, adding, "There were lots and lots of comments about who I've dated. Some are true and some I'll never admit to."
