Sally Farmiloe - Sally Farmiloe Loses Cancer Battle

British actress Sally Farmiloe has died aged 60 following a battle with bone and liver cancer.

The Howard's Way actress passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday afternoon (28Jul14), surrounded by her family.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, and appeared to have won the battle after undergoing successful chemotherapy. However months later in August, 2013, doctors found the disease had spread to her bones and liver, and she was subsequently diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Her agent tells MailOnline that Farmiloe had taken "a turn for the worse" about a month ago (Jun14), adding that she "just faded away. She was very weak and she just went to sleep. She was not in pain and she just slipped away."

Farmiloe made a name for herself as an actress on the hit 1980s drama and with supporting roles in various British films, but it was her secret three-year affair with author and politician Jeffrey Archer that catapulted her to fame in 1999.

Archer tells the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph, "After Sally's brave struggle against this terrible disease, I was saddened to hear the news of her death".

Following her first diagnosis with breast cancer, Farmiloe turned author and penned a candid account of her battle in a book titled My Left Boob, with the proceeds going to London's Royal Marsden Hospital and a cancer charity.

In January (14), she told Britain's Daily Express that publishers asked her to write a sequel following the success of the tome, but it is unclear whether Farmiloe finished the book before her death.

She is survived by her husband Jeremy Neville and daughter Jade, as well as adopted daughter, Kat, whom she took in after her mum, Farmiloe's best friend, died of cancer 17 years ago.
