Russell Brand - Russell Brand Fuels Revolution Campaign During Heated Tv Chat

Funnyman Russell Brand furthered his call for a revolution on the streets of Britain during a heated Tv interview with a U.K. journalist on Thursday (13Feb14).

Last year (13), the actor/comedian demanded a change in the political make-up of his native Britain, revealing he has never voted in an election as he believes it fails to have an effect on policy.

And, during an appearance on Channel 4 News in the U.K. on Thursday, the Get Him to the Greek star took aim at revered anchorman Jon Snow, accusing the host of trying to make him "look a bit daft" when a discussion about a campaign to reform Britain's drug laws descended into a bizarre spat.

As Snow accused the comedian/actor of wanting to change drug laws despite refusing to vote, the funnyman suggested the host had set him up on national Tv.

He said, "I came on here to promote (the drug law campaign) and we don't even need to promote it... I don't even need to be here... I refuse to be drawn on this subject. You know that parliamentary democracy doesn't truly help people... Don't tell me that politics works. Just don't."

Asked if he regrets calling for a revolution during a headline-grabbing Tv chat with another British Tv news pundit, Jeremy Paxman, Brand interrupted Snow, saying, "No, stop. Look - listen, you. Let me talk... (Drug law reform) is more important than you, an entertainer, getting me, another entertainer, to cook up a wacky version of politics so you can make me look a bit daft."

Asked by Snow if he still wants a revolution in the U.K., Brand replied, "You know I do. That's the reason that I'm here."
