Ray Manzarek - Ray Manzarek Returning From The Grave For Bbc Documentary Series
One of Ray Manzarek's final interviews is set to air on the Bbc as part of a new rock documentary series.
The Doors keyboard player lost his battle with cancer in May (13), aged 74, but he will return from beyond the grave in Born To Be Wild: The Golden Age of American Rock.
The first episode of the three-part show, which follows the rise in popularity of the genre in the 1960s to its fall in the early 1990s, will also feature interviews with Manzarek's former bandmate John Densmore, Alice Cooper and Tom Petty.
The series will premiere in the U.K. on Friday (10Jan14).
News of the show emerges a month after estranged The Doors pals Densmore and Robby Krieger officially put their long-running feud behind them and reunited to perform a mini-concert for a special event in Los Angeles, 15 years after they last shared the same stage.
The pair fell out over naming rights more than a decade ago when Densmore sued Krieger and Manzarek over their plans to tour as The Doors of the 21st Century. They are currently working together to organise a tribute concert to Manzarek later this year (14).
