Professor Green - Professor Green Deletes Twitter In Digital Makeover
British rapper Professor Green has deleted five years of Twitter.com history and rebooted his account in a bid to "erase the past and start afresh".
The Read All About It hitmaker has removed all the tweets he has posted since 2009 and vowed to cut back on his Twitter usage in future, insisting he doesn't want to be reminded of his previous personal problems and hopes to curtail the "digital diarrhoea that has spewed forth from my fingers in the 140 format".
Green made the change on Tuesday night (01Jul14) and subsequently explained his decision in an article written for Britain's The Independent newspaper.
He writes, "'Just brushed my teeth'. 'Nearly 12 hours kip. Wowzers.' Neither of these things is interesting, insightful or particularly funny. Yet these are things I've said, online, on Twitter, in recent memory, to my two-million-plus followers... So... I'm having a reboot, a digital do-over... From last night I've decided to erase my timeline and start over. I'm deleting all previous tweets and unfollowing the 1,600 people who clutter up my timeline. If I followed you on Twitter, chances are you have my number. Call me if you want to catch up."
He goes on to add, "I want to erase the past and start afresh. I've done a lot of my growing up in public; I've wrestled with a lot of demons, come to terms with many life-altering experiences and gotten married; most of, if not all, of which has been documented in some way shape or form on the internet. When I'm 80 years old sucking soup through a straw and my great grandkids are scrolling through my timeline, do I want them knowing I told two million people that I took a s**t at 4pm on a Thursday? Not really."
