Prince - Prince Opens Up His Home For Weekend Concert

Fans of reclusive pop superstar Prince will be able to check out his home on Saturday (05Oct13) when the Purple Rain singer opens the pad for a concert to reintroduce his backing band the New Power Generation.

The hitmaker is turning his back on traditional venues and staging the show at his Paisley Park digs in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Npg drummer Hannah Ford tells Rolling Stone, "We really just wanted to open up Paisley to the public and invite Minnesota and anybody else who can make it out. This one (gig) is moreso like a spur-of-the-moment event to spend time with our community and throw a big concert for everybody and show off some of the stuff we're working on."

A $50 (Gbp33.30) donation will be required at the door and cell phones will be banned.

Next Power Generation reunited at the beginning of 2013.
