Pharrell Williams - Pharrell Williams Wants Lawsuit Dismissed

Superproducer Pharrell Williams is urging a U.S. judge to dismiss a trademark infringement lawsuit filed against him by fellow hip-hop star over the name of his I Am Other channel.

The musicians went to war earlier this year (13) after the Black Eyed Peas frontman took issue with Williams using the phrase 'I Am' on the video-sharing website and fired off a cease and desist letter.

Williams reacted by taking pre-emptive legal action and filing court papers in a bid to protect his right to use the moniker, prompting to step up the fight and sue amid fears fans would get confused over who was actually behind the I Am Other channel because they share the same Interscope record label, and make similar styles of music.

Now Williams has hit back, insisting devotees would never mix up the two. He is asking court officials to throw out's argument and allow him to continue using the I Am Other phrase for YouTube and his other creative endeavours without the threat of any legal repercussions.

Williams, who has created hits for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jay Z and Britney Spears, is also demanding his chart rival cover his legal costs, reports

The court battle with is just one lawsuit Williams is currently facing - he is also challenging allegations his Robin Thicke hit Blurred Lines bares striking similarities to Marvin Gaye's classic Got To Give It Up and Funkadelic's track Sexy Ways.
