Cnn - Pele Inaccurately Killed Off In Cnn Tweet

Bosses at Cnn have apologised for inaccurately killing off Brazilian soccer legend Pele.

An online employee working on the news network's New Day morning show in America broke the news that Pele had died in a tweet on Friday morning (28Mar14).

The post was deleted once it became clear that Pele had not died.

The sportsman's representative told Cnn that the soccer star was "alive and very well".

A subsequent New Day tweet read: "We deleted an earlier and erroneous tweet on this topic. We regret the error and thank our followers for the feedback."
