Paul Mccartney - Paul McCartney previews New material
Sir Paul McCartney has given a preview of his latest album 'New', releasing the title track on the internet this morning (29.08.13).
Sir Paul McCartney has released the title track from his latest album, 'New'.
The 'Hey Jude' singer has been working with a host of big name producers on the follow up to last year's 'Kisses on the Bottom' and gave a preview of his work this morning (29.08.13).
The song was produced by Mark Ronson - famous for working with Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen - and features his trademark horn arrangements as well as Paul's distinctive bass work.
The track has a sound reminiscent of Paul's 60s group The Beatles in their 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' era.
Lyrics include: ''We can do what we want, we can live as we choose / You see there's no guarantee, we've to nothing to lose / Don't look at me, I can't deny the truth / It's plain to see, don't look at me / All my life I never knew what I could be / what I could do / then we were new.''
Ahead of the release of the song, Paul had teased fans on his Twitter feed by sending out cryptic clues, such as ''born'', ''York'', ''moon'', ''sworthy'', ''fangled'' and ''potato'' - all of which appeared to be unrelated until the word new is put in front of them.
Other producers to collaborate with Paul on the album include Paul Epworth - famous for working with Adele and Florence and the Machine - Kings of Leon producer Ethan Johns and Giles Martin, son of The Beatles producer George Martin.
'New' will include 14 tracks and be released on October 14.
