Macaulay Culkin - Party Monster Inspiration Set For Jail Release
A convicted killer portrayed by Macaulay Culkin in 2003 movie Party Monster is set for release after 17 years behind bars.
Former club promoter Michael Alig was found guilty of the manslaughter of Andre Melendez in 1997. The victim's dismembered body was discovered in the Hudson River the previous year (96).
Alig has been eligible for parole since 2007, and although several prison boards have denied his request, he is now expected to be freed on 5 May (14).
Alig was one of the notorious Club Kids who found fame on the New York City party scene in the early 1990s. Culkin played him in Party Monster, the Home Alone star's first film as an adult.
