Mikael Persbrandt - Mikael Persbrandt Found Guilty In Drugs Case

Actor Mikael Persbrandt has been sentenced to five months in jail for buying cocaine.

The Swedish star, who played Beorn in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, was charged alongside 10 others after his details were found in a drug dealer's phone last year (13).

At the District Court of Stockholm on Tuesday (15Apr14), he was found guilty of buying 12 grams (0.42 ounces) of cocaine and handed a five-month custodial sentence.

The 50 year old had denied the allegations, with his lawyer arguing that someone else had used his phone at a party.

Persbrandt is waiting to hear if he has the right to appeal.
