Michelle Williams - Michelle Williams Returns To Dawson's Creek With Daughter

Actress Michelle Williams recently returned to the scene of her big acting break to show her daughter where Dawson's Creek was set.

The Brokeback Mountain star became internationally famous thanks to her five-year stint playing troubled Jen Lindley on the teen drama, and recently decided to return to Wilmington, North Carolina, where the show was located.

She took along her daughter Matilda to visit the site, and was thrilled to see a host of familiar faces 10 years on.

She tells The New Yorker, "I actually hadn't been back since the show ended but I went back and took my daughter on vacation and saw people I hadn't seen in 10 years and went (to) all the places that we used to go. And it was great. It was actually a real stroke of luck to be transported there.

"I'm very lucky because she (Matilda) is very outgoing, very friendly, she likes meeting new people and places and experiences. So she makes it easy."

Williams co-starred in the show, which ran from 1998 to 2003, with Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and James Van Der Beek.

The Ladies Of "Destiny's Child" Back Together In Summery "Say Yes" Video 4249512 News

Are we all sufficiently in love with Destiny’s Child still? For those fans, who still live for the trio’s reunion, Michelle Williams just dropped the video to her latest, Jesus-praising song, Say Yes!

Michelle Williams
Michelle's new album, Journey to Freedom, is due out in September.

The video focuses on the feel-good tone and the message of unity, instead of the religious aspect of the song. It’s an endearing video, as Michelle, Beyonce and Kelly pop up in succession in their respective scenes, before the actual reunion takes place at what looks like a giant party towards the end.

Williams premiered the clip on Good Morning America earlier this week. She recalled the video shoot, calling the mini Destiny’s Child meetup “so much fun.” "Sometimes the director or production assistants had to say like, ‘OK, girls, bring it back home. Bring it back together because when we were together, we go back to how we were when we were younger, just always laughing and talking about things," Williams said. "It’s been a great moment."

Michelle Williams
Michelle and her former bandmates like to collaborate every so often and keep fans on their toes.

It wasn’t just sheer friendship that got the former Destiny’s child members to reunite. In a recent interview with Ran-Up, Beyonce explained why she relates to the inspirational message of Say Yes!

“It's Destiny’s Child time again," Beyoncé said of the track. "This song is so inspiring and it’s not enough music out there like this and I’m proud to be a part of it."

Jesus Christ Superstar US Tour Cancelled - Celebrity Stars Express Disappointment 4223185 News

The entertainment company responsible for the Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular Tour announced on Friday (30th May) the upcoming tour was cancelled. The company in question, Options Clause Entertainment LLC, released a statement on the tour's website simply stating the tour was cancelled and refunds would be given to all ticket holders. There was no explanation as to why the tour has been cancelled, especially only ten days before it was scheduled to begin.

The tour was set to start in New Orleans on June 9th and boasted an all-star celebrity cast including Incubus' Brandon Boyd, 'N Sync's JC Chasez and Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams. Ben Forster, who played Jesus in the production took to Twitter to express his disappointment. He wrote a series of increasingly irritable tweets, the first of which reads "My heart is broken. My beautiful talented cast and company I adore. This wonderful show & opportunity is over. I'm so sorry I am devastated."

Although refunds have been offered, it is stipulated the tickets should be returned to the venue. For many this is an added inconvenience as some were travelling to the location, which hardly makes it a convenient trip if you live out of town.  Forster also apologised for this in his statement, following complaints from a number of his followers. Forster wrote "I am so devastated. I'm sorry to everyone who got tickets and flights." Lance Bass, a former member of 'N Sync and friend of Chasez's, also expressed his sadness at the show's cancellation.

It seems little information has been given to the cast and crew about the reasons for cancelling the tour and no further information has been posted on the website. Forster last commented today (1st June) on Twitter, thanking his fellow cast members for a great time working together. Forster wrote "Thank you all for the amazing supportive messages. I am feeling very positive about what's next. Jc's has been amazing. Thanks to all of you."

Critics On 'Cabaret': Alan Cumming And Michelle Williams Receive Near Rave Reviews 4167617 News

Come to the cabaret, old chum, come to the cabaret – this one has Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming in it. Williams has just made her Broadway debut and, well, Cabaret is still awesome – no surprises there. The revival of the beloved musical, a staple in every university theater group’s repertoire, opened at t at the newly transformed Kit Kat Klub at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th Street). By Friday morning, the critics should have already ripped into it. Surprisingly, most musical theatre buffs only had good things to say about the Roundabout Theater Company’s revival.

Reviewers were conflicted on Michelle Williams' Sally.

Ben Brantley, The New York Times: "A little more than 16 years after it first opened, and only a decade after it closed, it feels as if the popular Roundabout Theater Company production of "Cabaret" never left Studio 54, where it reopened on Thursday night. Alan Cumming, who won a Tony as the nasty M.C. in 1998, is back, offering a slightly looser, older-but-wiser variation on the same performance...The most conspicuous difference is the bright blond actress portraying Sally...The promiscuous, hard-partying Sally is now embodied by a very brave Michelle Williams, who doesn't look all that happy to be there. I'm assuming that's more a matter of character interpretation than of personal discomfort, but it does put sort of a damper on the festivities...” So if you like your Sally Bowles unwaveringly upbeat, this adaptation might not be for you… then again the character is very world-weary, so the acting choice seems apt.

Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming, on the other hand, was an all-round hit.

David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter is duly impressed with Williams, as well as the rest of the production. He writes: “There's a riveting hard-soft dichotomy in Williams' performance. On one hand, she's the coke-snorting, armor-plated Sally who uses her frivolous disinterest in politics as an excuse to ignore the encroaching horror. On the other, she's the fragile creature who dreams of love and fulfillment while never quite convincing herself that those things are within reach...Mendes and Marshall have precision-tooled the production so that its hard, diamond edges glisten with sweat and sparkle.”

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Variety’s Marylin Stacio lists Cumming’s Emcee as the biggest selling point, writing: “Alan Cumming must have sold his soul to the devil to acquire his divinely debauched persona as the Emcee of the Kit Kat Klub in "Cabaret." It seemed nuts, but proved shrewd of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall to retool their dazzling 1998 revival of the Kander and Ebb masterpiece, fit Cumming with a new trenchcoat for his triumphant return, and bring the decadent netherworld of 1920s Berlin back to Studio 54, the revival's ideal venue.” However, Stacio’s review implies that the “soft and delicate” Michelle Williams has been miscast as the wild Fraulein Sally Bowls.

Cabaret will run through January 2015. Tickets are now on sale.

Jason Segel praises co-star Alyson Hannigan 4044835 News

Alyson Hannigan taught Jason Segel ''how to be a man.''

The 'How I Met Your Mother' actor, who reportedly checked into rehab following his split from Michelle Williams last February, admitted he is really going to miss his co-star when the show finishes up in March after nine seasons.

The 34-year-old star told US chat show 'The Talk': ''Aly taught me a lot about how to be a man, I gotta say. I was 25 when I took the show.

''I think we've all been through a lot personally. Aly and I have a lot of scenes together, spend a lot of time together, and she's always been there to listen to me and give me advice. [She] saw me through hard times and good times.''

He added: ''I learned a lot from being around Alyson about the kind of person that I wanted to be.''

Jason appeared on the talk show with his castmates, including Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson, who broke down in tears when asked what she is going to miss about Jason.

The 39-year-old actress, who has two daughters, Satyana, four, and 20-month-old Keeva, with her husband, Alexis Denisof, said: ''He's just such a wonderful guy . . . I'm getting all . . . I'm not gonna miss him. I'm not good at answering this question at all.''

A New Destiny's Child? Gary Barlow Reckons He's Found 'Em 3870939 News

Gary Barlow is truly ambitious for the new series of UK singing talent contest, The X Factor. The Take That singer is a judge on the show that filters through the country's best singing talent to find a brand new popstar.

Gary Barlow
Has Barlow Struck Gold?

The judge has reportedly created a new girl group with a trio of promising singers and before they've even reached the live stages of the competition, Gary is thinking global. A source speaking to The Sun tabloid described Barlow's enthusiasm for the talented three: "Gary really believes this trio could be the new Destiny's Child if they work hard," they said, adding "They sound really good together, they can dance and they look great[...]If the group make it to the live shows, they'll be one to watch."

Gary Has High Hopes For The New Girl Group.

One of the trio is said to be the hotly tipped South African-born beautician, Jeanette Akua, who has impressed judges with her rendition of 'Skinny Love' during her audition last weekend. Aglow with admiration, the four judges - Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh - labelled the fame-hungry hopeful as "a vision" with "star quality" and gave her four yes votes.

Akua moved from South Africa two years ago to pursue her singing dream, according to The Mirror, and will be paired with other promising auditionees to form a new girl group called Stop, Look, Listen. Bouncing backstage after her audition, Akua giggled "I got four yesses[...]I can't believe it!"

As Unlikely As The Prospects Of A New DC Are, We Invite Gary To Prove Us Wrong.

Is Gary speaking too soon when he name-drops world-conquering female acts like Destiny's Child? Formed in 1990, the girl group experiences numerous line-up changes before they settled with Beyoncé Knowles, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. With their themes of strong and independent women, vocal strengths and spectacular dance routines, the group became one of the greatest musical trios of all time.

Though they effectively disbanded in 2006, the group have sold more than 60 million albums to date. Take That, one of the UK's most successful boy bands, have sold just shy of 50 million. Gary will have a bit of catching up to do with his own band before he starts touting his new reality TV singers as the next DC.

Destinys Child 2007

Williams has been in the acting business since she was a child and even filed for emancipation from her parents aged 15 so she could pursue her acting career without the concern of child labor laws, as several of her peers also did. Having played Marilyn Monroe in the highly awarded My Week With Marilyn, Williams won a Golden Globe but narrowly missed out on an Oscar. She also received Academy Award nominations for her performances in 2005's Brokeback Mountain and 2010's Blue Valentine.

Based on a book written by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret was adapted into a hit musical in 1966 and has been performed all over the world ever since. The story is set in a seedy 1931 Berlin nightclub, the Kit Kat Klub at a time where the Nazi party was rising to power. The play centres upon 19 year-old cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with Cliff Bradshaw, an American writer.

Williams is reportedly taking over the role from actress Emma Stone who withdrew from the production due to scheduling difficulties. The Roundabout Theatre Company production will open on 24 April at the Studio 54 theatre on Broadway.
