Michael Palin - Michael Palin says dying with Monty Python would be 'great'

Michael Palin thinks dying during a Monty Python sketch ''would be a great way to go''.

The legendary comedy troupe recently announced they were reforming for a one-off reunion show in London and star has said he thinks passing way as part of the group would be a fitting end.

He told The Sun newspaper: ''If I died in the middle of a sketch with the Pythons then it would be a great way to go.''

The 70-year-old comedian has also revealed he was the reason the surviving members of the group - completed by John Cleese, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and Eric Idle - hadn't reformed sooner.

Their six member, Graham Chapman, died in 1989 and - despite attempts to work together a decade later - Michael wasn't convinced that the time was right.

He admitted: ''I was the one who said I wasn't happy with it ... Part of my reasons for not doing a stage show 15 years ago was because we'd miss Graham.

''He was a vital member of the cast and a brilliant writer ... But this time we haven't had to think about him - and not because we're being anti-Graham in any way.

''The great thing is that we can use technology to bring Graham in and not actually have to replace him.''
