Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson's kids visited morgue '10 times'

Michael Jackson's children visited the morgue ''10 times'' after his death.

The 'Thriller' hitmaker died in 2009 and his mother Katherine - who was appointed guardian for Prince Michael, 16, Paris, 15 and 11-year-old Blanket following his passing - revealed they all struggled to come to terms with the loss of their father.

She told Australian news show '60 Minutes': ''Michael's kids went back to the morgue where Michael was about 10 times. When I was in the room, I couldn't go there ... [my daughter LaToya] said the children are all kissing and hugging Michael.

''Even though he is dead they are still doing that.''

Michael's death hit Paris particularly hard, and the teen star tried to commit suicide earlier this year.

Katherine added her granddaughter insisted on having photographs of the singer ''all over her room'' when he passed away.

She sad: ''She was screaming and crying when Michael died saying 'I want to go with you daddy, I don't want to live without you ... I was feeling so bad for her.

''Paris suffered a lot after his death. She had to have pictures of Michael all over her room. Every picture that was hanging on the wall had to be of Michael.''

OMG! I still cry to this day, at the thought of losing Michael. I can't imagine what his children are going through. I pray for them every day, especially Paris. We love and miss you Michael.

Helen_C, I respectfully disagree with you on taking the kids to see their father in the morgue. I think something like that would help them come to terms with his death. It wasn't like he was sick and they knew he was dying...he was taken away SO suddenly...it's hard to come to grips when someone is ripped out of your life....they didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him. I think them spending time with him was therapeutic, not cruel. To have your father one minute and then he's suddenly gone the next, not seeing his body, talking to him, hugging and kissing him...I think it would have been even more difficult for them. I think that not having those kids in intense therapy since their father's death is nothing short of idiotic and cruel. Grief is a tricky thing, you think you're fine and coming to terms with it one minute, then BAM, it hits you like a ton of bricks....they should be talking to someone...BUT Mrs. Jackson would never allow that because she doesn't want anyone to know her business or Michael's business...that's so sad =( As far as MJ facing up to his addictions....how could he possibly do that when he was surrounded with enablers?? He was used to snapping his fingers and getting what he wanted because people wanted to be a part of his world. He didn't think he was an addict, no addict thinks their an addict. He wasn't some dirtbag looking to get high....he was a man with very low tolerance for pain, just trying to get by and manage his pain. He was extremely ill advised by doctors who were his "friends", that is mistake #1, a celebrity considering a doctor their friend. Yes, his family tried to help him....but his family also used to bombard him with trying to get him to perform with his brothers....they also did a lot of things that were not good for him in his life, so who were they to confront him and tell him he's an addict? Most of them have problems themselves, in Michael's mind, why should he listen to them? What do they know? Know what I mean? Michael trusted all the wrong people, but a lot of celebrities do. Michael needed someone in his life....ALL his life....that told him NO...that put their foot down. But there were so many people who told him yes all the time, that the ones who told him no were ejected from his life.

That could not have been a wise thing to do. Taking them to the morgue to see their dead father over and over. I don't want to seem unkind but grief has to start with the broken heart of the loss and that sort of visit does not help the process. It probably delayed it and caused no end of emotional problems. Last vision of dad was lying in a coffin or on a slab. No wonder the girl is suicidal. The last memory should have been a happy one. That's why many many adults don't view their deceased loved ones because they want to have a happy live memory. To take kids that young to the morgue is nothing short of idiotic and cruel.

MJ4Ever, if Michael faced up to his addictions and looked for a legit doctor and paid heed to his family when they were trying to reach out to him with help, then this would never have happened. But he took on unethical doctors like Murray to feed his addiction and they are both paying for it now. Addiction is not easy to overcome but with his kids in his life it was still not enough for him to quit the pain meds and propofol. And because he wouldn't (or couldn't) It was going to happen sooner or later. It always does with addicts.

Life really sucks sometimes and this is one of those times and I don't understand why any of this had to happen.I can say that if there is a God and a heaven, then Michael is surely looking down on his children and wants them to know he knows how much they adored him and that everything will be ok and that they will all be together again someday.

Oh my God! It is clearer by the minute the kind of love these children had for their dad. I see why Paris is still suffering. They all were so young and MJ was taken away from them (and us) in such a flash, that it did not compute with them and it seems to be taking them years, because I believe they didn't get a chance to tell him goodbye and tell him how much they loved him! I just hope they knows that MJ knew that in spades!!
