The Departed director will head up the board responsible for selecting the winners in the feature film competition when the festival kicks off in Morocco in November (13).

A statement from Scorsese reads, "I'm very happy to be this year's jury president. I have made two films in Morocco, during which time I came to admire the spirit of the Moroccan people and the beauty of their culture.
