Martin Scorsese - Martin Scorsese: 'I Took A Quaalude For Fear Of Flying'

Director Martin Scorsese used his own drug past to help perfect LEONARDO DiCaprio's Quaalude-guzzling scene in The Wolf Of Wall Street, revealing he once took to pill for a plane flight.

In his acclaimed new movie, DiCaprio's Jordan Belfort character finds himself stuck at a country club when a body-paralysing drug high kicks in - and he has to drive his prized sports car home.

And Scorsese admits he was able to add a little insight to the hilarious scene.

He says, "I was actually prescribed a Quaalude for fear of flying... It was, like, a five hour flight and you took that pill and you didn't care where you were.

"You wanted to hug everybody... and you were crying."
