Steve Mcqueen - Lupita Nyong'o is obsessed with manicures

Lupita Nyong'o is obsessed with manicures.

The '12 Years A Slave' beauty regularly shows off her nail art on Instagram and admits her passion for fingertip bling comes from her mother banning her from using nail polish as a child.

She told E! News: ''My mother wouldn't let me paint my nails until I was 12. So when I was finally able to do it, I did it every day.''

Lupita has become the darling of the fashion world since bursting onto the scene with her performance in Steve McQueen's tear-jerking drama, and admits she now has ''quite a few dresses'' in her wardrobe thanks to awards season.

She enthused: ''I'm really enjoying playing dress up and having things to dress up for.''

The actress was the belle of the ball at the 'Non-Stop' premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night (24.02.14) in a shiny bronze Lanvin dress. An asymmetric zip down the front, black Rauwolf clutch and metallic gold Sergio Rossi shoes gave the look a rocker edge.

The beauty also recently showed off her style credentials in Essence magazine and revealed she is low-maintenance when she's off duty.

Lupita explained: ''I don't wear makeup when I'm not working on the red carpet. Except for a night out here and there... but I try to give my skin a break.''
