Rapper Lil Scrappy has been threatened with a $2,000 (£1,300) lawsuit after allegedly wrecking a Texas hotel room.

The star played a gig in MCAllen, Texas on 16 November (13) but the show's promoter has accused him of causing damage at a nearby hotel after the concert.

The agent, who has not been named, claims police visited the hotel after receiving complaints of a loud party being held in a room and found a phone underwater, food all over the carpet, and drink stains on the walls, according to Tmz.com.

The promoter is threatening to call in lawyers if the bill for the damage is not reimbursed, but the hip-hop star tells the website he was only at the party for a few minutes and was not responsible for the state of the room.
