Sonic Youth - Lee Ranaldo Dedicates Music Lesson To Lou Reed

Sonic Youth rocker Lee Ranaldo dedicated his recent guitar workshop to the memory of Lou Reed.

Ranaldo held a day of free music lessons at a store in New York City last week (28Oct13), and the evening included a demonstration of how to squeeze odd sounds from a guitar and a bizarre 30-minute session showing extreme ways to play it.

After the event, Ranaldo dedicated it to The Velvet Underground rocker Reed, who had died the previous day (27Oct13).

Ranaldo tells Nme magazine, "He's a huge inspiration and we knew each other a little bit. There were lots of points tonight where I was thinking about (Reed's experimental solo album) Metal MAChine Music."
