Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin find two missing recordings

Led Zeppelin have unearthed two lost songs.

The rock band came across some old ''hidden gems'' featuring bassist John Paul Jones on lead vocals, and are planning to include them as bonus tracks when they release remastered versions of their classic albums next year.

Frontman Robert Plant told radio station BBC 6Music: ''I found some quarter-inch spools [reel to reel tapes]. I had a meeting with Jimmy [Page] and we baked them up and listened to them. And there's some very, very interesting bits and pieces that probably will turn up on these things.''

The 65-year-old rocker's find amazed Jimmy, but John has not been so keen and has been bribing his pal not to make the songs public.

Robert joked: ''So far he's up to giving me two cars and a greenhouse to leave them off the album.''

The 'Stairway to Heaven' hitmakers have been inactive since a one-off show in 2007 - with Jason Bonham standing in for his father, the band's original drummer, John, who died in 1980 - and Jimmy thinks it is unlikely they will play again in the future.

He said: ''We can't go out as Led Zeppelin without Robert and he doesn't want to do it.''
