Kings Of Leon made their live return to England last night (09.08.13).
The 'Radioactive' band are on the comeback trail ahead of new album 'Mechanical Bull' and performed at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire venue in London for an American Express Unstaged gig, which filmed especially by director Fred Armisen and streamed live on the internet.
The show was particularly intimate for the stadium rockers, as the venue has a capacity of 2,000 - a far cry from the venues the band usually play.
Fans were treated to hits from across the group's five albums, kicking off with old favourite 'The Bucket' before 'Notion', 'The Crawl' and an early outing for new single 'Supersoaker'.
The group - brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill with their cousin Matthew Followill - appeared relaxed throughout the show and played a tight set, apart from one song where Caleb admitted he had made some mistakes.
The frontman told the crowd: ''I just played the complete wrong part and you guys were still nice enough to clap. Thank you.''
The hits kept coming, with 'Molly's Chambers', 'On Call' and 'Use Somebody' all getting a huge response from the crowd, although the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for the encore when the group played 'Radioactive' and mega hit 'Sex on Fire' followed by 'Black Thumbnail'.
Bass player Jared tweeted afterward: ''Tonight was so fun. AmEx Unstaged went over awesomely. Went out and met the fans afterwards. Fred Armisen was great. Hope you enjoyed.''
The show was streamed live but is still available to be watched back at youtube.com/user/americanexpressmusic/unstaged
