Kings of Leon have told One Direction to confiscate phones before partying with girls.

The rock band have urged the 'Best Song Ever' hitmakers to be extra vigilant when entertaining the opposite sex by taking away their devices so they can't take incriminating photographs.

Drummer Nathan Followill said: ''If you're going to have a party in a hotel room, have a box at the door and take the girls' phones - that's what gets kids into trouble these days. Every phone is a camera.''

Frontman Caleb Followill has encouraged the boy band - consisting of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - to stick at what they do best, instead of trying to change into a rock band, because they have achieved all their success as a pop group.

He explained: ''Don't try to turn into a rock band or anything. You are already there and have your music and your fans, so don't try change what you are.''

Nathan was over the moon when he realised heartthrob Harry had started following him on Twitter and admits he gets teenage fans messaging him asking him to set them up with the hunk.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: ''I honestly think I got an extra 20,000 followers when that kid followed me - teenage girls asking me to set them up with him.''
